Happy Lunar New Year. As promised, we would like to announce the news for the Land NFT sale procedure. Again, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. We had an unprecedented demand for the Land NFT and could not properly prevent the bot attack. The participants of Klaycity events which occured previous to the incident will be rewarded accordingly: Fan Art Event: 2 Mint Pass Squid Game: 19 Mint Pass Gleam Airdrop: 30 Mint Pass Twitter Airdrop: 1 Mint Pass Chat King: 20 Mint Pass (10 Mint Pass for LVL 8 ~ LVL 11, 10 Mint Pass for LVL 12~) We have purposefully increased Chat King reward from 4 to 20 Mint Passes to compensate for the time spent. And we would like to thank everyone for their continued support despite the incident. Previously, we were looking to have a vote to find the most feasible way to distribute the Land NFTs, but it came to our attention that the voting system can easily be rigged. After several advice from investors, project owners and community, we’ve decided to proceed with the Lottery Whitelist method. For fair purchase rights of 900 Land NFTs, we will be opening up whitelists for the Land NFT sale from February 5th 9pm KST to February 8th 9pm KST. Each participant will be required to fill in whitelisting details with their wallet addresses and selected participants will be able to purchase Land NFTs for 500 KLAY each on February 10th 9pm KST. Participants will be selected through a specific Klaytn block hash value, and we will inform you transparently so that all participants can check it. In order to participate in the whitelist, users will be required to join Klaycity Discord. Duplicate IP blocks will be conducted to prevent multiple accounts joining our server. Detailed announcement for the whitelisting event will be provided on a separate post. We appreciate all the support you have given and ask you to continue to support us throughout the upcoming milestones.

Our team is hard at work, and currently meeting with outside minting specialists in order to ensure that there are no future repeats on the previous incident. We will announce the next steps and plans upon the end of the Lunar New year holiday. (Ideally, prior to February 4th) Along with: Updates on prior events (Chatting King, Airdrop) Compensation Structure for Early Members Updates to Mint Plans (Structure, format) Thank you everyone for your support and understanding, and we hope to bring everyone some good news soon.

Reflecting on today’s incident, we would like to first offer a deep apology for anyone that was left disappointed. We have blocked trading functions on Opensea and will be refunding any NFTs purchased within the next soon. We did not expect such a large traffic of users and our bot prevention system wasn’t perfect. The overwhelming demand for the Land NFT led to Klaytn RPC server overload and we apologize for the lack of preparation. After internal discussion, we have come to the decision to offer the next steps to the community to decide on the direction: We propose two options: 1. Reopen the sale later with stronger bot protection and updated contracts. 2. Offer the ENTIRE sale supply to the community. Free of charge, through events. The point of the NFT mint was not to raise money, and we are happy to prove that by giving all of those NFTs away to the community to remedy what has happened and regain your trust. We are dedicated to long term building of Klaycity, and will continue to improve and adapt when necessary. We are strong believers that having a supportive community is the most important foundation of a successful project, and as we have disappointed everyone, we would like to leave the next direction up to everyone the community. We will be soon opening a poll on our homepage for users to begin voting on which direction they would like for the presale NFTs to go. Whatever the result the users choose, we will proceed in that direction. Again, we would like to offer our sincerest apologies to all our community members who were looking forward to the mint.
