Reflecting on today’s incident, we would like to first offer a deep apology for anyone that was left disappointed. We have blocked trading functions on Opensea and will be refunding any NFTs purchased within the next soon.
We did not expect such a large traffic of users and our bot prevention system wasn’t perfect. The overwhelming demand for the Land NFT led to Klaytn RPC server overload and we apologize for the lack of preparation.
After internal discussion, we have come to the decision to offer the next steps to the community to decide on the direction:
We propose two options:
1. Reopen the sale later with stronger bot protection and updated contracts.
2. Offer the ENTIRE sale supply to the community. Free of charge, through events.
The point of the NFT mint was not to raise money, and we are happy to prove that by giving all of those NFTs away to the community to remedy what has happened and regain your trust. We are dedicated to long term building of Klaycity, and will continue to improve and adapt when necessary.
We are strong believers that having a supportive community is the most important foundation of a successful project, and as we have disappointed everyone, we would like to leave the next direction up to everyone the community.
We will be soon opening a poll on our homepage for users to begin voting on which direction they would like for the presale NFTs to go. Whatever the result the users choose, we will proceed in that direction.
Again, we would like to offer our sincerest apologies to all our community members who were looking forward to the mint. We will make the necessary changes to ensure that this never happens again.
